Services
Our Campaigns
Page One Media is a full service literary public relations firm. All of our campaigns include intensive research, bespoke and individualized outreach, and regular communication with you, your agent, and your in-house team to make certain that no stone goes unturned. We strongly recommend that you talk with your publisher about bringing in outside help on your book. We are highly collaborative and team oriented. Our projects thrive when your publisher is excited to collaborate with us.
LONG-LEAD BOOK CAMPAIGNS
Bespoke literary PR and/or marketing campaigns starting no less than six months in advance of publication date. Each book campaign includes print, online, radio, podcast, and when appropriate TV outreach, to journalists and producers at all appropriate outlets for your book. P1M does not conduct publicity campaigns for self- or hybrid-publishing authors at this time. If you are self- or hybrid-publishing your book we recommend Page One Education as an alternative to one of our public relations campaigns so you can make the best decisions for you and your book.
EXPERT POSITIONING / PLATFORM BUILDING CAMPAIGNS
These campaigns are designed for nonfiction authors, academics, researchers, and experts in any field. Campaigns run a minimum of six months and do not need to be tied specifically to the publication date of a book. Expert campaigns typically consist of help with oped ideation, editing, and pitching, broad outreach to news producers, hosts, and journalists, and tailored outreach to subject area journalists, radio shows and podcasts. Many of our expert campaign clients choose to remain on retainer after the initial positioning campaign is complete to continue building their platform as a subject area expert in the media and increase their readership.
MARKETING CAMPAIGNS
Marketing campaigns can include social media strategy and support, social media influencer outreach, big mouth outreach, outreach to politicians and subject area influencers, indie bookstore outreach, digital marketing including advertising, website strategy and blog support, newsletter building, giveaways, and collaboration and strategy to manage the author side of in-house marketing campaigns, and much more. Every marketing campaign is unique depending on the subject matter of the book and the author’s goals.
OTHER OPPORTUNITIES TO WORK WITH US

Publisher Consultations
Sarah Russo is available for a limited number of consultation meetings per year. Small independent and university presses typically ask her questions about audience engagement, social media, marketing, and publicity. We can discuss and brainstorm ideas for specific campaigns, series launches, how to better reach influencers and build relationships with the media. We can get granular and talk about planning a media trip to New York and how to best utilize that time and who to meet with, how to stand out in a very crowded media field for book reviews, how to think about the publishing timeline and best plan around the competition, and so much more.
Speaking
Sarah Russo is available for speaking engagements. She is a regular speaker at universities talking to graduate students about the publishing process. She has recently spoken at Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, The New School, UCLA, Adelphi, and many more.
Sarah is also a regular speaker at conferences and book festivals. She has been a speaker at Social Media Week, the Association of American Historians and the Organization of American Historians, the American Society of Journalists and Authors, and many others.
