Sarah Russo
Founder & CEO, Page One Media & Page One Education
Sarah Russo (she/her) is a publishing professional with over twenty-five years of experience working across the spectrum of publicity, communications, traditional marketing, social media marketing, branding, and business development. Sarah has worked in-house for Alfred A. Knopf, Doubleday, Scribner, Other Press, Farrar, Straus & Giroux, and Oxford University Press, and as a consultant for organizations and companies like the National Book Critics Circle, the Association of University Presses, the American Booksellers Association, The Yale Review, Europa Editions, Folio Society, and with authors too numerous to count but that include Lindsay Chervinsky, Simon Winchester, Jeffrey Sachs, Nadine Strossen, Benjamin Moser, Diane Cook, Kathleen Hall Jamison, James McPherson, Henry Louis Gates, Jr., Valeria Luiselli, Siva Vaidhyanathan, Anne Berest, and David Kilcullen.
Prior to launching Page One, Sarah was the Global Head of Audience Engagement for Oxford University Press. She led a team of dynamic publicists, marketers, social media marketers video production and corporate communications professionals. She is currently a mentor in the 92nd Street Y’s Women inPower fellowship program and faculty at the Columbia Publishing Course.
Sarah is the host of The Publishing Playbook, a podcast whose sole mission is to help educate authors so they can better succeed in the book marketplace. Sarah is a regular speaker at conferences, book festivals, and universities. She has been a speaker at Social Media Week, the Association of American Historians and the Organization of American Historians, the American Society of Journalists and Authors, Johns Hopkins University, The New School, Adelphi University, UCLA, George Washington, Pace University, and many others. Laura Di Giovine
Associate Director of Publicity
Laura Di Giovine (she/her) is the Associate Director of Publicity for Page One Media, where she leads the publicity department. A publishing professional with 15+ years of industry experience, she previously worked at Independent Publishers Group (IPG) and Smith Publicity, where she handled numerous high-profile book publicity and expert positioning campaigns. Some of her current and recent campaigns include Monsters in the Archives: My Year of Fear with Stephen King by Caroline Bicks (Hogarth), The Nightingales by Emil Wilson (Avid Reader Press), Mona’s Eyes by Thomas Schlesser (Europa Editions), The Postcard by Anne Berest (Europa Editions), Wolfish by Erica Berry (Flatiron), Loot by Tania James (Knopf), Your Child Is Not Their Weight by Dr. Joey Skelton (American Academy of Pediatrics), The Good Mother Myth by Nancy Reddy (St. Martin’s Press), and expert positioning work for Corinna Barrett Lain and Dr. Bronwen Carroll. Laura graduated summa cum laude with a degree in English Literature from the University of San Francisco. Born in Rome and a dual US-Italian citizen, she was raised in Portland, Oregon, and enjoys returning to the Pacific NW with her family every year.
Isabella Nugent
Senior Publicist
Isabella Nugent (she/her) is a Senior Publicist at Page One Media, where she manages publicity campaigns for authors and experts across a wide range of subject areas, including history, philosophy, sociology, and more. Some of her recent campaigns include Relinquished by Gretchen Sisson, a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award for Nonfiction, McNamara at War by Philip Taubman and William Taubman, winner of the Barbara and David Zalaznick Book Prize in American History, and Making the Presidency by Lindsay M. Poppy Hatrick
Senior Publicity Executive
Poppy Hatrick (she/her) is a Senior Publicity Executive at Page One Media, where she leads campaigns, supports and consults the agency across campaigns, as required. She joined Page One Media in 2020 and has been integral in helping build the agency from the ground-up.
Poppy started her career at Oxford University Press, NY and has over seven years of experience as a book publicist. She has managed a wide range of national campaigns including expert positioning, fiction, and non-fiction; working with international bestsellers to debuts. Poppy has secured top-tier coverage in outlets such as NPR’s Weekend Edition, The New Yorker, Washington Post, The Guardian, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, The Hill, US World News & Report, Financial Times, Vox, The Nation, and TIME, among many others.

Bella Gibb
Publicity and Marketing Assistant
Bella Gibb (she/her) is the publicity and marketing assistant for Page One Media. Originally from Boulder, CO, she graduated from Northwestern University in 2024 with a degree in English and now lives in New York City. Most recently, she has worked as the director of TEDxNorthwesternU and the production assistant for artists Eve Sussman and Simon Lee. In her free time, Bella is a writer, podcast enthusiast, and aspiring home chef!
